Planets of the Universe

Are we alone in the Universe?

Duration: 50 min

Synopsis

The session covers the recent discovery of more than 5,000 planets orbiting other stars and asks whether we are alone in the Universe. Life beyond Earth is possible, but it is still a hypothesis because of the enormous distances involved. The show highlights how unique Earth is as a place for life: despite scientific progress, Earth may be our only viable habitat.

The session is a chance to learn more about the universe and to understand why preserving the Earth matters for our survival and for future generations. It lasts about 50 minutes.

Recommended audience

The session is open to all audiences. However, it is recommended for people aged 11 and over.
